Housing Experience

Resident Training

Essex based Chelmer Housing Partnership asked BDB to provide a training session to enable their residents to more fully participate in supplier and contractor interviews.

Senior Building Surveyor John Bartram commented 'The event was a great success. The involvement of residents in contractor selection and monitoring is key in ensuring that our services meet residents expectations. Since the training a number of attendees have volunteered to be involved in the contractor interview process for CHP”

Getting residents more closely involved in the running of housing associations and local authorities is a key activity for organisations in pursuit of Client Charter accreditation. In addition, there are considerable benefits to be gained for clients if they allow their residents to concentrate on issues directly affecting their properties.
